Receiverships:  The Pros and Cons

Gary Wencel and Alex Moglia of Moglia Advisors submitted an article for publication in the August, 2011 issue of the Turnaround Management Association journal discussing  business receiverships, their prerequisites, benefits and pitfalls.  They concluded that under certain circumstances, a receivership may be the best alternative for lenders, trade creditors or owners in conflict with fellow owners.  To see the article in its entirety, click here.

Killer Clauses and Critical Decisions

The Moglia Advisors team presented “Killer Clauses & Critical Decisions” to the Underground Contractor’s Association at the Underground Spring Showcase.  The presentation highlighted critical issues such as:  profitability, new services, new markets, personal satisfaction of the owners and their employees, survival of the companies and peace of mind of the owners and personal guarantors. 

Alex Moglia, President of Moglia Advisors, wrote an article on corporate fraud identification and prevention, partially based on Moglia Advisors' experience in fraud investigations and forensic accounting. The article, "WHAT CAN FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS LEARN FROM THE BITTER LESSONS OF FRAUD?" was published in the March 2010 issue of the Banking & Financial Services Policy Report. Alex Moglia, president of Moglia Advisors, was interviewed for the June article "U.S. Biofuel Plants go Bankrupt on Feedstock Costs" In this article, Mr. Moglia details the reasons behind the ailing biofuel industry; and what awaits companies in that field. Alex Moglia, President of Moglia Advisors, a corporate financial and restructuring firm, travels to Brazil to speak to the Brazilian Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. 
Alex Moglia, of Moglia Advisors in Schaumburg, Illinois, spoke on the topic of restructuring, refinancing and/or selling distressed companies operating nationally and internationally.  Highlights to his presentation were possible changes to Brazil’s insolvency laws and capital markets structure designed to encourage domestic and foreign investment in underperforming and distressed companies in Brazil.
